Interactive Television Program Brings Local Dating to Phoenix
NEW YORK - September 19, 2006 - Fox Television Stations and TAP, INc. have announced the launch of a new multi-platform dating program, "My Dating Place." The interactive show, designed to bring together singles in their hometowns, will begin in Phoenix on the Fox owned-and-operated MyNetworkTV station, KUTP-TV My45.
In making the announcement, Frank Cicha, Senior Vice President of Programming, Fox Television Stations, said, “'My Dating Place' is a continuation of our efforts to link our television stations, digital properties and viewers in an exciting interactive experience.” He continued, “This program combines these ingredients to create a unique home viewing encounter that allows people to connect with others looking to date in their hometown.”
“My Dating Place” will air five nights a week and is designed as a visual extension of a Web-based dating platform. Viewers' online participation will drive what is presented each night on “My Dating Place.”
TAP, INc. President and “My Dating Place” creator and executive producer, John Terenzio, said: “Until now, dating shows have been national in nature and more about showmanship than function. However, today's audience is aggressively seeking to fully participate in content and do more than just cast a vote or buy a product. 'My Dating Place' is a way for viewers in every community to be served with a positive, interactive television experience.”
